U.S. News & World reporter John Marks (Tom Ford*) sends a letter from Berlin – September 1990 - to his friend and playwright Doug Wright. "…I’ve found a true character; she’s way up your alley. (And, believe me, I use the term "she" loosely.) I’d love to interview her – make her my first official article for U.S. News & World Report. But I’m afraid my editor will say her story is too extreme. Still, I think she may well be the singular, eccentric individual the Cold War ever birthed." Words reflected in the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and 2004 Tony award winning script for "I Am My Own Wife" at Portland Stage Company. Photo credit: Darren Setlow Photography
